Maverick's baseball goes 4-1 in the Florida tournament

On March 8, Minnesota's Mavericks traveled to Leesburg, Florida, where the team took part in the Russmat Florida Invitational over a period of five days. The team ended the tournament with a 4-1 record.

The Mavericks played Grand Valley State to start their journey. The two teams met for the first time in 2009, where the Mavericks turned on the head with a final result of 5: 4. This time the Mavericks followed the example and again came to the top with a final score of 4: 1 over the team.

Senior Pitcher Nathan Culley played his second complete game in three starts against Grand Valley. He allowed a run, seven goals, a walk and eight strike outs for the Mavericks. Culley approved a run in 20 innings this season.

The Mavs then met on Sunday (March 8) against Ohio Dominican, where they fell to the team with a final score of 6: 8. With this defeat, the Mavericks have had a 3: 3 record against Ohio Dominican since their first meeting in 2013. The loss marks a second loss in a row for the Mavericks against the team.

The Mavericks pursued their defeat on Monday with a win against Point Park and defeated the team in 7 Innerings with 14: 2. The Mavericks now have a 1-0 record against Point Park. The Mavericks kept strong against the team and did not allow runs for the first half of the game.

The Mavericks completed the tournament in a final matchup against Wayne State. The Mavericks played the team twice to end the journey, where they arrived in both cases the top of the top.

The two teams met for the first time on Tuesday (March 11th) in a 7-in-end game in which the Mavericks 20-5 came to the top top-top 5. The two teams went back and forth in the first half, then the game took a turn when the Mavericks Wayne State enforced 8-0 in the second half.

The two teams met again the next day, where the Mavericks were back in front. This time the score resulted in 6: 1. The first four inner rings of this game did not lead to any points on either side, since both defenses looked great.

The patient situation ended when Maverick's player Ben Palmer started a Solo -Home -Run into the left field during the 5th. The Mavericks continued throughout the game and landed two more points in sixth place and only allowed 1 point for Wayne State.

The Mavericks are now preparing for the trip to Wisconsin on this next Monday when the team competes against UW Parkside. The Mavericks currently have a 6-0 record against the team.
