Crab fire size compared to San Antonio

In order to put the Crabapple Fire burner in the right perspective, it is the equivalent of a burned area from Rauten St. Mary's University to the city center and then to the Frost Bank Center.

KSAT used geographical information systems (GIS) to make a comparison to Bexar County. See the card below.

The risk of fire continues

Other dry and windier conditions this week, at which Wednesday is the most extreme risk of fire hazards for the south central texas.

At this point, our extraordinary drought together with wind gusts of up to 35 miles per hour and relative humidity will spread under 10%of all developing fire.

These conditions make it very easy for a fire to start from something as simple as a careless cigarette thrown away or parking a vehicle on a high grass.
