Top 5 sleep trends reveal – here actually work that actually work

Time to give these so -called sleeping hacks a break?

The team behind the Sleep Tracker Sleep Cycle has crisped data from over 1 million global users to determine social media tubes that have become viral. The company based in Sweden recently published the results as part of its annual sleep report all over the world.

“This year's trends were definitely an interesting mix of old and new,” Michael Gradisar, Sleep Cycle's Head of Sleep Science, told The Post.

Michael Gradisar, Sleep Cycle's Head of Sleep Science, rated five popular sleeping hacks and revealed whether they should throw them or convert them into reality.

“Let's just say those of us who earn their livelihood to improve people's sleep, they do not use them,” he added. “But some of these trends show how far people are willing to look for better sleep.”

Gradisar rated five of these popular sleeping habits and informed whether they should throw them or turn them into reality. Bed, safe as a sorry!

Mouthplic

Placing a small piece of medical adhesive tape over the lips forces the Snoozer to breathe through the nose instead of the mouth.

Practice is intended to increase sleep quality by reducing snoring and dry mouth. Some claim that it even grabs Genclines and improves the facial features, although there is no scientific evidence that is the case.

Gradisar said the “works” method when the lips are glued vertically, but promotes advice with a sleep doctor of the airways before trying it out.

“While a small study has shown promising results to reduce the severity of the sleep apnea with mouth classes, the evidence is still limited,” he wrote in the sleep cycle report.

Ground sheet

Conductive materials such as silver or copper are woven into the fabric of this bed linen, also called grounding leaves.

The leaves are connected to a wall outlet to establish an electrical connection between the body of the user and the earth. The electron flow is intended to reduce pain and inflammation and at the same time improve circulation, energy and sleep.

Gradisar is not a fan and calls the alleged power of the ground sheet a myth.

“There is not a single study that has tested ground sheets for sleep.

Sleepy Girl Mocktail

Gradisar said the non-alcoholic tictok-friendly, non-alcoholic mash-up made of sour cherry juice, magnesium powder and sparkling water or prebiotic soda “type of work”.

“While some of the ingredients such as cake cherries and magnesium have shown a modest potential for support
Sleep in certain circumstances, their effects are generally subtle and not generally perceptible, ”he said.

“The non -alcoholic aspect of the mocktail is a positive step for sleep health, but the general effects on sleep quality are probably minimal for most people.”

Digital detoxification

There is a digital gap – some experts are committed to using smartphones before going to bed. Others say it can be made safe. olga_demina – stile.adobe.com

Some experts discourage the electronics before going to bed because the blue light emitted from these devices can suppress the production of melatonin, a hormone that is decisive for the regulation of the sleep-wake cycle.

Gradisar called the need for digital detoxification a myth.

“My research team spent hundreds of hours to investigate how different technologies influence sleep,” he wrote. “We have found that they usually have no significant influence on sleep if a regular bedtime is maintained with a person's natural sleep-wake cycle.”

It is okay to play video games or use a smartphone, said Gradisar as long as you surrender to passive activities such as television or listening to a podcast before going to bed.

Sleep decision

Partners who sleep in separate beds or bedrooms wins in the USA – and Gradisar supports the behavior to improve their general health and relationship.

“There are strong indications that factors such as movement, noise and temperature corpse can disturb the sleep quality from a bed partner,” he noted.

“While there are many solutions to tackle these problems without separation, sleeping apart can be an effective option to improve the individual sleep if other remedies are not sufficient.”
