Gbi arrested Georgia when sexual exploitation of the child examination

Jasper – A man from Georgia was arrested and accused by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation with sexual exploitation of children.

Release:

The GBI has arrested and accused James Arthur Puddick, 29, from Jasper, Pickens County, Georgia, for sexual exploitation of children.

In January 2025, the GBI CEACC unit began an examination of Puddick's online activity after receiving a cyberiplination report by the National Center for Mefrinalized and exploited children (NCMEC) through the possible online possession and the distribution of sexual abuse material from children. This investigation led to Puddick's later arrest. The Sheriff office of Pickens County, the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office of the GBI, the Special Operations Unit of the GBI, and the investigation for home protection examinations helped to investigate and arrest Puddick.

Puddick was instructed in Pickens County's prison.

This investigation is part of the continuous efforts by the Task Force for Internet crimes against children (ICAC), which are housed in the GBI unit and computer crime of the GBI in order to identify the material involved in the trade with sexual abuse of children. The ICAC program created by the US Ministry of Justice was developed in response to the increasing number of children and teenagers who use the Internet, the spread of sexual abuse materials of children and the increased online activities of predators who are looking for unattended contact with minor victims.

Anyone who has information about other cases of child exploitation is asked to contact the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes under 404-270-8870 or to report on the national center for missing and exploited children cybertiplines under cybertipline.org.
