IRS Whistleblowers, the hunters examined – and outlawed – are promoted in the finance department

Irs whistleblower Gary Shapley and Joe Ziegler, who conveniently comforted Hunter Biden's treasure contract for his tax crimes – and then started and outlawed from the case – were promoted in management positions in the finance department.

It is a sweet justification for the experienced investigators who have endured two years of retaliation since they whistled the political interference in the criminal investigation by the former first son.

This week, Shapley and Ziegler will start work as a senior consultant of the finance minister Scott Bessent, who heads the tax authority's reform for 12 months. After that, they will go to high -ranking IRS leadership rolls to carry out the plans.

“Promote the truth”

“This is a victory for every whistleblower out there,” said Ziegler, senior investigator of the troubled five-year-Hunter bidding in Delaware. “Gary and I will continue to do everything in our power to promote the truth, to promote whistleblowers and to suspend the bad actors who have affected democracy.”

Shapley, his former supervisory officer, said: “We will be able to support the administration in combating your goals.

Bessent said: “I am happy to welcome Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler in the Treasury Department, where they will help us to drive the urgently needed cultural reform within the IRS.

“These experienced officials contribute to the focus of the agency on collections, modernization and customer service so that we can offer a more efficient and efficient IRS experience for hard -working American taxpayers [Iowa] senator [Chuck] Grassley's efforts in the congress to support the protection of whistleblower to improve transparency, accountability and exterminate the culture of retaliation. “

Grassley praised the “bravery, courage, expertise and integrity” of the men and said that their survey “will send a clear signal that the reference to misconduct is an honorable thing.”

Grassley asked in a private letter last month to place the two whistleblower in management positions in the IRS.

Shapley and Ziegler were removed from the case of Hunter Biden in December 2022 after telling their IRS bosses that the Ministry of Justice and the then US lawyer David Weiss disabled their investigations and slowly walking, and blocked that the search was blocked. The limitation period lowers the most serious fees.

The men have named six IRS managers, of which they say they have returned to them and should be disciplined in an official complaint with the pending Merit Systems Protection Board.

Last month, the Federal Whistleblower Protection Agency, the Office of Special Counsel, found that the IRS had wrongly returned to Shapley and Ziegler.

“Gary and Joe were never motivated by awards, just an underlying wish to do what was right,” said the lawyers of the Whistleblowers, Tristan Leavitt and Jason Foster from Empower Over.

“Working life became hell”

Shapley and Ziegler were “isolated, frozen and relentlessly checked from professional progress,” said Foster. “Working life became hell.”

Besser praised his “willingness to bring these two brave whistleblower to the management positions within the agency”.

“This opportunity that secretary improvements offer you will enable you to use your deep skills and understand how the IRS works from top to bottom to solve some of the problems anchored within the agency.”

Foster also praised Grassley, who “never fluctuated from his support from Gary and Joe, and we appreciate everything he and he and we appreciate [House committee] Chairman [Jason] Blacksmith [of Missouri]Present [James] Comer [of Kentucky] And [Jim] Jordan [of Ohio] Have done to ensure that you can use your skills to support the administration. “

After his treasure contract had fallen apart, the 55 -year -old Hunter, who in California, became a tax fraud in California, to which he was guilty last year, and weapons crimes in Delaware, for which he was condemned by a jury.

His father pardoned him in December for crimes he has committed since January 1, 2014.
