Judge Pavlo Vovk, head of the Kyiv District (OASK), who was headed by the Cycling Court, released the high advice of the judiciary, which was charged according to an official announcement published on March 18
Vovk was responsible for “a significant disciplinary crime, a rough or systematic neglect of duties that is not compatible with the status of a judge or unveiled his incompatibility with the position that he holds”.
The anti-corruption campaign center reported that Vovk did not appear before the High Justice Council and instead submitted several appeals, including applications for the withdrawal of the council members and the shift in the procedure.
The spokesman for the meeting, member of the High Council of Justice, Oksana Kvasha, suggested rejecting Vovk. All 14 council members supported the proposal.
Vovk has become a symbol of systemic corruption and impunity in Ukraine. He and other judges from his dish will be present for usurpation of power, the disability of the judiciary, organized crime and abuse of authority.
In December 2022, the Ukrainian Parliament voted for the dissolution of the Kyiv Administrative Court, which was caught under Vovk leadership in corruption scandals. President Volodymyr Zelensky signed the decree and made it law.
On December 9, 2022, the US State Department Vovk sanctioned to mark the international anti-corruption day, which imposed visa restrictions on and possibly freezing its assets.
The high anti-corruption court of Ukraine listens to the criminal proceedings against Vovk and its accomplices. For years, prosecutors, investigators and courts have hindered and delayed cases against him.
