St. Patrick's Day Brunch of the Cancer Foundation attracts a lot … and a delegation of dollys – with slide show

The St. Patrick's Day Brunch of the Hatteras Island Cancer Foundation attracted a colorful amount of residents, visitors and a stylish pack of dolly partons who penetrate their best boots and their financial improvement clothing for this day in Hatteras Island.

The annual brunch contained live music by Rory Kelleher, Mimosas, a full buffet, a selfie station and a Bloody Mary Bar as well as a raffle with prices donated by Lee Robinson General Store, and an estimated 115 tickets were sold before the event on Sunday morning.

Donna Barnett, Vice President of the Hatteras Island Cancer Foundation, said that the brunch on March 16 was an extremely successful initiative that collected more than 8,300 US dollars for the local foundation.

As a result, the St. Patrick's Day Brunch remains a relatively new, but already popular annual tradition for the HICF in addition to the many other events that the HICF organizes as fundraisers.

The HICF is a voluntary and non -profit organization that supports cancer patients and their families who live on Hatteras Island. The main goal of the foundation founded in December 2000 is to collect donations in order to provide financial support for medicinal bills, recipes, travel expenses and other needs that may not be done by insurance.

So far, the Hatteras Island Cancer Foundation has supported over 244 islanders in cancer and their families with grants of more than $ 1,000,000.

“We look forward to the great turnout, enthusiasm and all donations for the Cancer Foundation at St. Patrick's Day Brunch,” said Barnett. “It was definitely an event in which you remember and we are grateful for everyone who has come, and for everyone who continues to support our members of the Hatteras Island community and neighbors in need.”
