In order to calculate the foundation, the state requires the valid signatures of real estate owners who make up at least 7% of the valued property value and 10% of the land area based on the value and the cultivation area of each signal.

Eleven inhabitants, which make up 23% of registered voters within the proposed borders of West Hills, signed the petition and met the land -related requirements. The governor's office received an application for the establishment in January.

Lt. Governor Deidre Henderson then certified the application for the foundation on February 26, which means that the foundation has officially met all state requirements and will appear on the ballot in November.

A total of 47 registered voters live within the proposed borders. You will determine whether West Hills is founded as a new community.

Derek Anderson, a real estate lawyer of Salt Lake City and the city's sponsor, founded West Hills and its borders in 2023. He has re -drawn the city lines at least three times and asked as a real estate owner to be excluded from the project.

In the second half of 2024, the government's office's office's office did not accept or issue any exclusion inquiries, including those submitted by owners who had previously not included the limits before the deadline. The sponsors of Utah Code do not need to need prior approval from a landowner in order to add them to the proposed limit.

Twenty -two people spoke in January at a public hearing, all of which were against the community. Many residents of the district of Eastern Summit were frustrated about state law and their inability to decide whether their real estate should be included in the proposal and described the controversy inclusion as a question of ownership.

However, followers of West Hills said that the integration will actually give residents more flexibility with their property, control the expected growth in the region and promote the preservation of the open country.

When the voters enter into the foundation, the five sponsors of the city – Derek Anderson, Sam Castor, Gregory Myers, Nathan Anderson and Vance Checketts will select the number of members of the city council and draw district boundaries.
