Outdoor dining NYC: Road restaurants -setups in NYC can start next week

New York (WABC) – The owners of restaurants all over New York City can install their setups for curb cash in the streets of the city for a week from Tuesday.

On April 1st, the roads return and approved restaurants can begin on March 25th.

The Ministry of Transport said that there are 600 travel application applicants, and another 2,000 sidewalks will be outdoors on April 1 at the beginning of the eating time.

These companies are happy to have additional space to operate their customers.

“Spring is in the air and the New Yorkers are ready to eat outdoors outdoors,” said the NYC Dot Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez. “Today we remind all facilities with permits for the company that you can start building road shots next week so that you are ready to serve customers on April 1st.”

According to the department, around 600 road applicants were not approved – either because they are still in the review process or have not fully completed the application.

When Covid all moved outside, the city had about 1,200 roads outdoors – but this number is now closer to 3,000 and climbed. The number of outdoor restaurants has almost tripled.

“We only compete with Paris when it comes to the amount and quality of these programs,” said Rodriguez.

There are certain rules that all setups have to follow – they must be able to be picked up and cleaned with a removable floor after once a week.

If you can remove the floor, you can keep food and rats away.

In addition, the barriers can only be filled with water, as rats like to dig in the sand.

And the curb must also be clear and clean.

As set up by the city council, the facilities can operate Bürgsteig setups all year round, while the road dinner operates seasonally from April 1 to November 29.
