The police authority in Lancaster deals with concerns on social media with regard to a recently stolen vehicles and alleged home vasions. A Facebook post that claims to collapse and steal cars has prompted the department to clarify the situation.

According to captain Jonathan Ziders, the Lancaster police have received five reports on stolen vehicles this year. In three of these cases, the vehicles were stolen with keys inside. Three of the stolen vehicles were taken from open garages, while two were taken by entrances or parking spaces.

While vehicle thefts occurred, Captain Zider said that the department had not found any evidence that combined these crimes to a single person or group – including the people in the photos.

“Occasionally we have some vehicle breakers, but nothing that goes beyond what we normally see,” said Captain Ziders.

Despite social media claims, the Lancaster police confirmed that they have not received any reports on home vasions.

“Nothing was reported to us that these people broken over the threshold of the house, further enter the house and then keep wallets or keys and remove things from people's kitchens,” said Captain Ziders.

While pictures of people were shared online in local districts, the police have not found any evidence that they directly combine with criminal activities.

“They were involved in the post as criminal activities, but we have no connection to anything between them and anything that occurs in our city,” said Captain Ziders.

Police recommendations:

The Lancaster police ask the residents to take precautions by locking their vehicles and closing their garage doors. Officials said they patrol into the area to prevent criminal activities and react to them.
