It seems that Yu Darvish may not be in Padres rotation at the beginning of the season

Peoria, ariz. – The beginning of Yu Darvish's season is doubtful how it was unveiled on Tuesday that it was closed due to elbow infections.

At best, Darvish's first start seems to be at the rear end of the rotation. The Padres's calendar and the declared wish of preserving the 38-year-old right-hander so that it helps them deeper into the season indicate that his absence could be longer.

Darvish played fishing on Tuesday, although he was only slightly and about 60 feet for five minutes long.

“We'll see how he recovered, give him a few more days,” said Padres manager Mike Shildt. “We don't know what exactly it is, but he had some elbow.”

Darvish Woiuld must be able to cut a hill this weekend so that he may be able to start in a game with Minor League during the week to start the fifth game of the season.

The only reason to assume that this could be possible is that the Padres did not exclude it.

“He got through the catch what was a good sign and we will take it every day,” said Shildt. “It is possible that it affects the beginning of the season.

Darvish threw 54 pitch over four innings in a Cactus league game on Thursday. He played Fang Friday, had his bullpen canceled for Sunday. The Padres initially attributed the shutdown of general fatigue.

If you go forward without Darvish at the beginning of the season, two places must be available in the rotation instead of looking at all spring.

The three remaining competitors are Randy Vásquez, Stephen Kolek and the left -handed Kyle hard.

“We have good options,” said Shildt. “This part is good.”

Another potential starter is Matt Waldron. However, it is not expected that he will start at least a week after closing on Friday with a left -wing strain. The initial evaluation that it is mild has obviously played out.

“There will still be a few downtime,” said Shildt. “But overall as best it could have been.
