IPL 2025: KKR against LSG -Match in Eden Gardens on April 6th will probably be postponed for security reasons

The home game of Kolkata Knight Rider against Lucknow Super Giants on April 6th in Eden Gardens is expected to be postponed, since the local police did not issue any security approval due to RAM Navami.

The chairman of the West Bengal BJP, Suvendu Adhikari, announced over 20,000 processions throughout the state during the festival and demanded higher security measures nationwide.

The President of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), Snehasish Ganguly, confirmed that the game would be postponed after two discussions with the police on Tuesday. He said that the authorities “did not give the starting art” for the match.

The police said that they would not be able to offer adequate security, which makes it impractical to organize a lot of over 65,000 peaoplle.

The BCCI was out of focus


Since then, the taxi has informed the control board for cricket in India (BCCI) about the situation, with some time still available to make a final decision. Ganguly also pointed out that a similar scenario took place last year when a planned IPL match had to be postponed against Ram Navami. “You have categorically announced that you cannot offer adequate security. If there is no police protection, it will be impossible to accommodate a 65,000-person quantity,” Snehasih was from PTI. “We informed the BCCI and it is still time to accept one last call. A planned IPL -Match against Ram Navami also had to be replaced last year.”

The IPL 2025 season begins on March 22nd in Eden Gardens. It is played between the defending champion KKR and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

The opening ceremony, which will take 35 minutes, is expected to present appearances by singer Shreya Ghoshal and the actress Disha Patani. The ICC Chairman Jay Shah and other prominent dignitaries are expected to take part in the event and mark the return of an opening ceremony in Eden Gardens to Langer Lücke.
