The Kolkata Police has not yet granted any approval for the game that coincides with the celebrations of RAM Navami 2025, for which extensive security agreements are required.

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) President Snehasish Ganguly has confirmed that the authorities did not approved the game as planned in discussions.

“You categorically said that you will not be able to ensure adequate security. If there is no police protection, it will be impossible to fix a 65,000-person quantity,” Pti Gangul quoted.

“We announced the BCCI and it is still time to accept one last call. A planned IPL -MATCH had to be postponed to Ram Navami last year,” added the President of the Taxis President.

During the IPL 2024, Kolkatas Match was postponed with Rajasthan Royals (RR) for security reasons.

Ram Navami collides in West Bengal

Ram Navami celebrations in West Bengal have recently been affected by violent clashes. In 2024, violence broke out in Shaktipur in Murshidabad, where stones were covered by roofs and a bomb attack was injured over 20 people.

In 2023, the Howrah district saw two days of violence during a RAM Navami procession, with reports on stone boards and vehicles being lit. In 2022 in Shibpur (in the Howrah district), during another procession in Shibpur (in the Howrah district).

The KKR VS LSG Clash would be Kolkata's fifth game in IPL 2025. Before that, Shah Rukh Khans team horns with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), RR, Mumbai Indian (Mi) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will lock up.
