GATE 2025 Result Live Updates: No, there is no common, centralised counselling process for MTech and PhD admissions through GATE. After qualifying in the entrance test, candidates need to apply separately to each of their preferred institutions.

GATE 2025 Result Live Updates: The following additions have been made to the GATE exam this year-

1. BSBE department, IIT Kanpur, will admit MTech students through the GATE 2025 examination.
2. PSU NPCIL will use GATE 2025 results of CE, CH, EC, EE, IN, and ME test papers for recruitment.
3. GRID-INDIA will use GATE 2025 results of EE test papers for recruitment.
4. GAIL (India) Limited will use GATE 2025 results of CH, CS, EE, IN, and ME test papers for recruitment.

GATE 2025 Result Live Updates: Financial Assistance given to MTech students is ₹12,400 per month and is generally paid for 22 months.

Financial Assistance given for PhD programmes (direct PhD after BE/BTech/MSc equivalent with a valid GATE score) is ₹37,000 per month for the first two years and ₹42,000 per month from the third to the fifth year.

GATE 2025 Result Live Updates: As per the information bulletin, cut-off marks for the general category is calculated as

where μ denotes the mean of marks of all candidates, and σ denotes the standard deviation of positive marks of all the candidates who appeared for the test paper. The cut-off marks for the other categories will be calculated as:

Cut-off for OBC-NCL/EWS categories = (9/10) x GENERAL cut-off

Cut-off for SC/ST/PwD categories = (2/3) x GENERAL cut-off

1. Go to gate2025.iitr.ac.in.
2. Open the GOAPS 2025 application portal link.
3. Enter your login details.
4. Submit and check the result.

GATE 2025 Result Live Updates: Every test paper has 65 questions carrying 100 marks, out of which 10 questions carrying 15 marks are on General Aptitude (GA).

In test papers AE, AG, BM, BT, CE, CH, CS, EC, EE, ES, GE, IN, ME, MN, MT, NM, PE, PI and TF, the GA section carries 15 marks, and the remaining 85 marks are from to the subject component, out of which Engineering Mathematics carries 13 marks.

XE has a common and compulsory section XE-A (Engineering Mathematics), which carries 15 marks.

In test papers AR, CY, DA, EY, GG, MA, PH, ST, XH and XL, the General Aptitude section carries 15 marks, and the remaining 85 marks are from the subject component.

GATE 2025 Result Live Updates: In the GATE exam, after the answers are evaluated, the actual (raw) marks obtained by a candidate are considered for computing the GATE Score. For multi-session test papers, raw marks from different sessions are converted to normalized marks for that particular subject.

Thus, raw marks (for single-session test papers) or normalized marks (for multi-session test papers) are used for computing the GATE Score based on the qualifying marks.

GATE 2025 Result Live Updates: In all test papers, General Aptitude (GA) questions carry 15 marks. The GA section includes 5 questions carrying 1 mark each (sub-total 5 marks) and 5 questions carrying 2 marks each (sub-total 10 marks).

There is no negative marking for a wrong answer or partial credit in NAT questions.

While there is no negative marking for wrong answers in MSQs, candidates will not get partial marks for choosing partially correct combinations of choices or any single wrong choice.

GATE 2025 Result Live Updates: GATE 2025 test papers had three types of questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT).

MCQs carry 1 or 2 marks each. These questions are objective with the choice of four answers. Of the four options, only one is correct.

There will be a negative marking for a wrong-chosen answer in MCQ.

For 1-mark MCQs, 1/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer and for 2-mark MCQ, 2/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.
