1 dead, 1 injured after shooting the Tampa basketball court

Hillsborough County, Florida – one person was killed and another was injured during a shootout on a basketball court on Tuesday evening.

According to the Hillsborough County's Sheriff, the incident occurred shortly after 7 p.m. before the plantation courts of the plantation in the Carrollwood region in Tampa.

When the MPs arrived, they found two adult men who suffered from gunshot wounds. Both victims were brought to a regional hospital. An adult man, Brian Jones, 19, succumbed to his injuries. The second victim remains in the hospital.

In the course of the investigation, detectives learned during a basketball game, which led to the shootings.

“A basketball game should never lead to a senseless act of violence,” said Sheriff Chad Chron Minister. “Our detectives do everything to find out who is responsible for this hideous crime.”
