1 dead after shooting on Dumfries Drive, presumed shooter on the escape: police

A fatal shootout in the southwest of Houston is examined by the police after a suspected argument has been escalated, say officials.

What we know:

Both the police in Houston and the fire brigade reacted to 6305 Dumfries Drive at 11:15 p.m. on Sunday evening for a shootout.

A man was found in the parking lot with a gunshot wound. It was declared dead by Houston Fire Department units at the crime scene.

Based on preliminary information, Lieutenant JP Horelica said that the victim had identified himself with another man and a third man tried to intervene and separate the two.

At some point the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the man and hit him once.

Both the shooter and the third, third, left the scene before the police arrived.

What we don't know:

The Houston police have no clear identification of the suspect.
