1 dog killed, 6 saved in the fire, which destroyed half of Santa Rosa Duplex

The unit in which the fire started has damage of around 150,000 US dollars, estimates the fire brigade officials.

A fire tore on Sunday afternoon through a unit of a duplex -duplex -duplex -Santa Rosa, killed a dog and did not leave a family with nothing, said officials.

Around 2:30 p.m. in the kitchen of the house on the Cordelia Drive, the flames broke out and spread quickly. When firefighters arrived, the fire flocked from the front and side of the building, said battalion boss Jason Jenkins.

The inside family came out safely and managed to save six dogs. Firefighters later found a small dog that no longer reacted and tried to revive him inside, but the pet did not survive. Nobody else was hurt.

It took about 20 minutes to bring the flames out. They stayed two more hours to master flare-ups and clear debris.

Everything inside was destroyed and the house was not compatible. The damage was estimated at $ 150,000.

The neighboring unit had minor smoke damage, but remained safe in which they could live.

Firefighters said the fire started in the kitchen and continued their investigations.

The family's friends and neighbors have made their disposal to help. A gofundme had collected more than $ 3,000 from Tuesday afternoon.

“Although we are grateful that (the mother) and her children have made it safe, they have tragically lost their beloved dog and every single property they had,” the fundraising campaign said. “She is an incredibly strong and resilient mother, but she can't do it alone.

The organizer of the fundraising said that the fire started while one of the children cooked.
