1 hospital after Covington Police Shooting Bank robbery suspect

Two police officers from Covington are on administrative leave, while the Kentucky State Police examines a shootout of the officials.

The Covington police said that the officials had answered reports at 3 p.m. on Friday around 3 p.m. on reports on an armed robbery in the US bank in the 600 block of the Madison Avenue. When the officers arrived, they “came up with a man who agreed with the description of the suspect” less than one block.

In a press release, KSP said that a preliminary investigation pointed out that the officials asked the suspect Charles Davis to drop his gun while trying to hold him. Officers fired their weapons and met Davis. He was brought to the UC Medical Center with what KSP said, no life -threatening injuries.

KSP was called to carry out an independent examination of the shootout. The two officials involved remain on vacation while continuing the investigation.

The 600 block Madison Avenue is a popular area where several restaurants, shops and Hotel Covington are born. The hotel published in the social media that access during the police investigations could be limited.
