1 person who was killed in Connersville Apartment Fire

Connersville – One person died on Sunday in a apartment fire in Connersville.

According to the Connersville fire brigade, firefighters were sent in a structural fire in the cross -apartment complex in the 3600 Western Avenue at around 6:23 p.m. The fire included an apartment on the first floor.

On arrival, firefighters quickly observed flames from the unit terrace door and immediately initiated the oppression efforts. Shortly afterwards, motors 1 and 4 came to help and focused on the fire fighting and the urgent evacuation of the 30-units wing. Five people were saved by the first aiders from a window on the second floor.

All firefighters outside the service were called to the scene to provide additional support. Tragically, the fire brigade of the tenant of the apartment, which had suffered injuries in the incident.

The Connersville police supported the evacuation of the remaining three wings of the complex to ensure the safety of all residents.

Fayette County Ems replied, treated a fireman for minor injuries and caused a tenant who suffered from smoke. Unfortunately, all residents of the affected 30 units wing were sold due to extensive smoke damage.

Connersville Fire said the Red Cross coordinated the efforts with local churches to help the displaced.

The office of the State of Indiana's firefighting office was contacted to support the examination of the cause of the fire, which will continue to be examined.
