The Aztec Warriors (Laredo & Octagon Jr.) vs. First Class (AJ Francis & KC Navarro) (Countdown to Sacrifice)

It seems as if Laredo has dropped the ‘Kid’ from his name in this newly formed tag team with Octagon Jr. AJ Francis tried to cut a heel promo before the match, but the crowd chanted ‘We can’t hear you’, as Octagon & KC Navarro started the match. Octagon starts with flashy, high-flying moves off the corner, but as Navarro tries to show off to the crowd he gets stopped with a knee to the face before Laredo gets tagged in. The Aztec Warriors stay in control by sending their opponents outside the ring, working on Navarro in the corner, and hitting him with some wild offense off the ropes. Francis tries a double Down Payment, but the Warriors fight back and take him to the outside where they both take turns diving onto him. Navarro seems to fake a knee injury as Francis takes out Octagon with a Down Payment in the corner. As the referee is dealing with that, Navarro turns Laredo’s mask backward and hits him with the Blessing in Disguise to pick up the win.

Winners: First Class (AJ Francis & KC Navarro) by pinfall at 6:45

Arianna Grace & Tessa Blanchard

Gia Miller is in the back with Arianna Grace who hypes up tonight’s interpromotional TNA Knockouts World Championship Match between Masha Slamovich & Cora Jade. Tessa Blanchard interrupts and is tired of hearing about Masha & Cora, and says the real story is her and it’s only a matter of time until she reclaims her Knockouts World Championship. Tessa tells Grace to shut up and says that after the match, Cora will go back to NXT.

Cage Match Rules

We get the rules to tonight’s 10-man cage match as well as The System & The Colons hyping up the main event.

  • Two teams, five competitors
  • Two competitors begin the match
  • After 2 minutes, a new competitor enters the cage every 1 minute until all competitors are inside the cage
  • Win by pinfall or submission

Ryan Nemeth comes out to tell us the ‘breaking news’ that his brother Nic Nemeth is returning tonight.

As the Countdown show is about to sign off and they are running down the card, we see Sami Callihan & Mance Warner are already fighting as they have a Street Fight scheduled on the main show (Tessa Blanchard vs. Lei Ying Lee was scheduled to open up the pay-per-view). Callihan starts tossing trash cans and chairs into the ring, including one chair that hits Warner right in the face. There is a referee in the ring as the match officially starts now with two minutes to go on the Countdown.

Street Fight: Sami Callihan vs. Mance Warner (w/ Steph De Lander)

Mance Warner uses a chain to start choking Sami Callihan out, but he breaks out of it and powerbombs Warner through a table as the pay-per-view officially starts. Callihan takes a Sacrifice poster and gives Warner a paper cut to ‘You sick fuck’ chants. Callihan ups that up by giving another one, this time to Warner’s mouth. The ring is littered with weapons, as Callihan grabs a staple gun, but Warner is begging him off. Steph De Lander then hands Warner his own staple gun, as we now have a duel with staple guns as the crowd is chanting ‘Staple War’. They both end up stapling each other in the forehead, before moving on to the chest, and neck and continuing on each other’s different body parts. Callihan then goes and staples Warner’s tongue to the turnbuckle pad before hitting him with a Death Valley Driver through a chair. SDL hands Warner a screwdriver, but Callihan stops him from being stabbed in the forehead with it, followed by a stunner for a two-count. SDL tosses powder into Callihan’s face, as Warner follows with a knee strike to pick up the win.

Winner: Mance Warner by pinfall at 10:57

Tessa Blanchard vs. Lei Ying Lee

Tessa Blanchard gets her entrance theme rapped out by El Paso’s own, Krystall Poppin. The crowd is giving it to Tessa as the match starts. Lei Ying Lee takes control, but Tessa fakes asking for forgiveness just to toss Lee to the outside where they continue brawling. Back inside, Tessa takes over and starts taunting and flipping off the crowd, encouraging the boos and chants. This was enough to get the crowd to start the ‘She’s a racist’ chant but it was countered by ‘No, she’s not’, this time. Lee comes back with a flurry of kicks and a dropkick to Tessa against the bottom rope. Lee follows with an airplane spin, dropping Tessa on her face for a two-count. They go back and forth, and after Lee hits a twisting superplex gets a very close two-count, that sends the crowd up in arms that it was a three. Tessa comes back with a cutter, goes to the top rope, and hits Magnum to pick up the pin and the win.

Winner: Tessa Blanchard by pinfall at 11:17

We Believe In The Main Event

Gia Miller is in the back with The Hardyz, Joe Hendry, Elijah, Leon Slater & Nic Nemeth but first gets words from Jeff Hardy ahead of tonight’s match with Moose as he calls himself the master of the ladder matches and next X-Division Champion. Nemeth says he’s happy to be back, as Elijah says The Colons & The System are going to walk with Elijah. Slater says he’ll be side by side with a team of legends as Matt Hardy calls this an all-star team they have assembled. Hendry finishes off by telling us it’s the first cage match in TNA in six years, and when they beat their opponents everybody will be chanting ‘We believe’. As Gia signs off the segment, Ryan Nemeth runs in and says he barely made it in time as Gia tells her he’s not even in the match.

Lucha Rules: Wes Lee, Tyson Dupont & Tyriek Igwe vs. The Rascalz (Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz) & Ace Austin

It was announced during the Countdown that this six-man tag team match will now be contested under Lucha Rules. Matthew Rehwoldt brings up how The Rascalz & Ace Austin could be on the same page and brings up how ‘Ace tried to bang Trey’s mom’.  Commentary reminds us how a tag is more of a suggestion and isn’t required for the match. Austin & Wees Lee start the match and right away take it to the outside as Trey Miguel & Tyson Dupont go at it, with Dupont catching Miguel off the ropes just to get sent to the outside with a hurricanrana. Zachary Wentz & Tyriek Igwe go at it next with Wentz hitting a crazy-looking twisting dive off the corner for a two-count. All six start going at it on the outside until Lee sends Austin into the steel steps. Wild action throughout as The Rascalz hit Feed ‘Em To The Lions to Lee, but he kicked out of their finisher at two. Igwe holds Miguel back as Lee hits him with a top rope stomp to the back of the head. Igwe & Dupont follow with a double chokeslam on Miguel, but he kicks out. The wild non-stop action is happening from all angles until the babyfaces have Lee surrounded in the ring. Lee starts screaming at them, if it wasn’t for him they wouldn’t even be here before they hit him with a Lightning Spiral / Fodl combo. Wentz follows with a Spirtal Tap on Lee for the win.

Winners: Ace Austin & The Rascalz (Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz) by pinfall at 9:56

Gia Miller is in the back with Steve Maclin who says tonight is the right time to take care of Frankie Kazarian, and Maclin himself will be ‘calling his shot’ tonight.

Frankie Kazarian vs. Steve Maclin

Eric Young joins commentary and says he has Steve Maclin’s back, no matter what. The match starts a bit on the slow side, as the crowd finally starts to calm down after the past two fast-moving rowdy matches. Maclin sets up Frankie Kazarian in the corner and hits the Crosshairs for a two-count. They go back and forth countering each other’s Crossface Chicken Wing and KIA. Maclin sends him to the outside and hits him with a Scud. They start trading pin attempts until Kazarian locks on the Chicken Wing, but they both end up spilling on the outside as Kazarian still has the hold on as the referee is finally able to break it off. Kazarian puts on brass knuckles he grabs from his Call Your Shot trophy cup, but Young catches it and takes them away before knocking Kazarian out with them and tossing him back into the ring. Maclin follows with the KIA to pick up the pin and the win.

Winner: Steve Maclin by pinfall at 8:50

The Personal Punching Bag

Gia is in the back with Spitfire, as Jody Threat says they have fire in their eyes and tonight they are smashing some entitled silver-spoon brats and their errand boy. Dani Luna says that The Personal Concierge will become their personal punching back.

TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship: Spitfire (Dani Luna & Jody Threat) (c) vs. Ash By Elegance, Heather By Elegance & The Personal Concierge

Dani Luna & Ash By Elegance start the match as the crowd chants for The Personal Concierge to put a shirt on. Ash & Heather By Elegance double-team on Luna, before the Concierge tags in but Luna scares him to tag right back out to Heather. Luna & Jody Threat spend the next minute tagging in and out and working on Heather before the Concierge distracts Luna causing her to be knocked to the outside. The Concierge tags back in and gets help from Ash as Heather has the referee distracted. Threat goes after both Ash & Heather causing them to hit each other. The Concierge tries to get involved but gets sent to the outside by Threat, before she sends Ash & Heather out as well, to hit them with a dive. The Concierge runs back in and gets hit with the Pressure Drop from Spitfire. Ash & Heather take advantage and hit Threat with a double-team stomp to pick up the win.

Winners: Ash By Elegance, Heather By Elegance & The Personal Concierge by pinfall at 9:11, to become NEW TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champions

Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson

After the match, NXT’s Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson of Meta-Four appear and motion for the tag titles

Mustafa Ali (w/ Tasha Steelz & The Great Hands) vs. Mike Santana

This has been one of my favorite built-up matches going into this show, with an excellent segment on the go-home edition of TNA iMPACT. Mike Santana gets introduced by the local ABC-7’s sports director Adrian Ochoa before riding into the arena in a 1964 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport. Santana stays on top of Mustafa Ali and tries the Three Amigos but Ali turns it into a near fall, before Santana comes back completing the suplexes, sending Ali to the outside and hitting him with a dive. The Great Hands start attacking Santana on the outside, as Ali tries to pin Santana with his feet on the rope, but the referee catches him. With Santana on the outside, Ali tries a dive onto him but gets caught right into a cutter, as they both then just beat the ten-count at nine. Ali takes over and heads to the top rope, but misses the 450 Splash as Santana follows with a rolling Buck 50 for two, runs right to the top rope, and hits the Frog Splash, as Ali bridges out at two. The Great Hands try to get involved but Santana takes them both out. Tasha Steelz gets on the apron and slaps Santana, as Ali quickly follows with a roll-up with his hand on the rope to pick up the tainted win.

Winner: Mustafa Ali by pinfall at 13:11

TNA Knockouts World Championship: Masha Slamovich (c) vs. Cora Jade

Arianna Grace joins commentary for this inter-promotional championship match. As McKenzie Mitchell is doing the ring introductions, Cora Jade attacks Masha Slamovich from behind to start the match. A slow first couple of minutes before Masha sends Cora into the corner and hits her with a missile dropkick off the second rope. The crowd starts a dueling chant for both women, as Jade blocks the Requiem and follows with a destroyer to Masha onto the apron. Jade follows with Jaded, but Masha gets her foot on the bottom rope. A bit of back and forth before Masha hits the Requiem to pick up the pin and win.

Winner: Masha Slamovich by pinfall at 9:27, to retain

TNA X-Division Championship Ladder Match: Moose (w/ Alisha Edwards) (c) vs. Jeff Hardy

As soon as the match starts, both Moose & Jeff Hardy go to grab ladders with Hardy being the only one to successfully get one in, as commentary mentions the amount of ladder matches Hardy has been in while Moose has never been in one. They take it to the outside, where Moose blocks the Twist of Fate and sends Hardy into the steel steps. The crowd starts chanting for tables in a ladder match for some reason, as Hardy brings out his own ladder from the Full Metal Mayhem match at Bound for Glory in Detroit last year. Hardy goes to climb that ladder, but Moose stops him with chair shots to the back and powerbombs him off. Moose follows this by placing another ladder in between the standing ladder and the corner and powerbombing Hardy onto it. Moose brings a table into the ring which makes him an instant babyface to this El Paso crowd. Hardy goes to grab the title, but Moose carefully walks on the wedged ladder and ends up getting sent off with a Twisted Fate from Hardy. Moose tosses the ladders to the outside, with the Jeff Hardy one knocking a camera off of the cameraman’s shoulders. Moose follows with a superplex, but Hardy comes right back with a Twisted Fate, as Moose counters with his spear. Hardy sends Moose to the outside with a backdrop onto another ladder that was leaning against the ring. Hardy brings another table out and places Moose on it and crashes through it with a Swanton Bomb from the top rope. As Hardy starts climbing the ladder, Alisha Edwards starts attacking him with a kendo stick so Hardy takes her out with a Twist of Fate. Moose follows this by spearing Hardy through the other table that was waiting in the corner. Moose climbs the ladder and grabs the title to win the match.

Winner: Moose at 16:53, to retain

This Thursday’s iMPACT

Mike Santana stops Santino Marella in the back and says he got screwed tonight and he begs him for a rematch. Santino says he’s right and says he’s had enough of Mustafa Ali and says on this Thursday he has a rematch and Tasha Steelz & The Great Hands are banned from ringside.

They also announced that Chavo Guerrero Jr. will appear this Thursday.

First Class Records

First Class comes back out and as AJ Francis says they are here to bless us with a new episode of the First Class Penthouse as they start drinking champagne.  They then start plugging their new T-shirt but the crowd doesn’t want to hear any of this. They announce First Class Records and that they will be holding auditions with audience members. They start talking to a kid in the crowd named Theodore and say he’ll never be in First Class as nobody in this town doesn’t deserve to be in it. They get interrupted by Laredo & Octagon Jr. (The Aztec Warriors) and speak Spanish as Francis tells them to speak English or go back to where they come from. Laredo calls them a bunch of cheaters and culeros, which he translates means assholes. They get into a scuffle before the referees step in between them. This was a pretty bad segment that I can only say was done as they put the cage up for the main event.

Cage Match: The System (Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers & JDC) & The Colons (Orlando Colon & Eddie Colon) vs. Elijah, Nic Nemeth, Leon Slater, Matt Hardy & Joe Hendry

This is pretty much WarGames rules as Eddie Edwards & Elijah are the first two entrants with Elijah riding a horse to the ring before he starts singing a song. The bell doesn’t ring as commentary states it ‘doesn’t really start’ until everybody is in. Brian Myers comes out after the two-minute mark, as The System won the team advantage on last night’s iMPACT and goes right after Elijah with Edwards. Nic Nemeth comes out to even the sides after his 4-week unpaid suspension from TNA. The time intervals seem to be a bit all over the place, as Orlando Colon comes out next, followed by Leon Slater as commentary mentions him not only is this his first TNA PPV main event, but also becoming the youngest person to main event a TNA PPV beating Amazing Red’s record by 19 days. Not much time in between intervals for anything significant to happen, as Eddie Colon comes out next. Matt Hardy comes out next as the crowd wakes up a little bit, hoping something will happen in this match. JDC comes out as the last person in his team and brings a chair into the ring before power bombing Slater into the cage. Joe Hendry comes out as the final entrant in this match, as the bell rings at 10:51, and this match ‘officially starts’.

Hendry gets the crowd fully behind him, but Myers takes him out with a low blow. The crowd starts to really get into this match with ‘culero’ and ‘Fuck The System’ chants. Edwards hits Nemeth with a Blue Thunder Bomb to get a two-count in tonight’s first pin attempt. Ryan Nemeth runs out and starts cheering on his brother. Slater starts climbing the cage as JDC & Edwards join him, but Slater knocks them both down and hits a Swanton 450 Splash from the top of the cage onto everybody else. Slater had the cover, but Ryan had the referee distracted to make the three count. All the babyfaces start hitting their finishers including Hardy hitting JDC with a Twist of Fate with his neck trapped between a chair to pick up the pin and the win.

Winners: Matt Hardy, Joe Hendry, Nic Nemeth, Elijah & Leon Slater by pinfall at 17:02

Nic Nemeth Turns On Matt Hardy

Everybody leaves the ring with the exception of Nic Nemeth & Matt Hardy, as Ryan Nemeth locks the cage and Nemeth takes out Hardy with the Danger Zone. Ryan joins in the attack as Slater, Elijah & Hendry aren’t able to enter and help out. Slater tries to climb the cage but gets taken out with a chair. Hardy is busted open here as The Nemeths are continuing the attack. No signs of Jeff Hardy as the show goes off the air.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Overall a pretty strong show from top to bottom, with a great El Paso crowd that was engaged for the most part. The only thing I can outright say I didn’t enjoy on the show and wasn’t needed was the First Class Penthouse segment, especially after they had already had a match earlier on in the night but I understand why as they needed time to set up the cage. Even at the beginning of the cage match before the bell rang, the crowd seemed dead but that could most likely be due to them not understanding the rules of the match once it officially started, they were pretty invested and reacted accordingly to the post-match turn from Nic Nemeth. The NXT integration continues to be welcomed and commentary did a great job of having the excellent Roadblock show and its results carry onto this show, with them explaining the wear and tear both Moose & Jeff Hardy had going into their ladder match. The only title change of the show makes sense as it looks like Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson could possibly take those titles from the heels in Ash & Heather By Elegance and give the NXT women’s tag division something worth fighting over on Tuesday nights.
