12 jurors for Highland Park Mass Shooting Trial; FOCUS turns to alternatives

Now there are twelve jurors to hear the case of the 23-year-old Highwood man who is accused of fatally shot seven people and injured dozens of others during the parade of Highland Park Independence Day.

On Wednesday, the lawyers shifted to the selection of six alternatives who will join the 12 if the opening statements are to begin on Monday morning.

The accused, who was not guilty, took part in morning negotiations on Monday and Tuesday, but did not return to court after the lunch break. Victoria Rossetti Lake County, the deputy of the Sheriff of Lake County, informed the defendant to him on Wednesday morning that he would not take part in the day of the day.

The defendant, who is imprisoned in the district prison, looks like 21 murder and dozens of other charges in connection with the attack of July 4, 2022 against 21 charges of the first degree.

According to the public prosecutor, the accused fired dozens of shots from a military-style rifle to the crowd of 4 July 2022 from a roof along the parade route.

If he is convicted of two or more murders, he sees himself in prison before an obligatory prison sentence.
