19-year-old accused in shooting of 4-year-old arrested in Murfreesboro

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WSMV) – The man wanted in the shooting of a 4-year-old boy was arrested by U.S. Marshals on Tuesday, according to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office (RSCO).

RCSO reported that 19-year-old Taliek Gallishaw-King was arrested in Murfreesboro.

Gallishaw-King is facing charges of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon and tampering with evidence. Over the weekend, law enforcement responded to a home on Tessa Grace Way and found the 4-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was taken to a Nashville hospital where he underwent surgery and is expected to survive.

“Investigators on-scene determined Taliek Gallishaw-King fled the scene in an unknown vehicle shortly before law enforcement’s arrival and took the handgun used in the shooting with him,” Rutherford County Sheriff’s Detective Jesse Gammel said.

The 19-year-old is being held on a $60,000 bond and has a court date set for May 22. More charges are pending against him in another county.
