19-year-old injured when shooting in the Tuttle Street in Augusta

Augusta, Ga. (WRDW/dares)-a 19-year-old was injured on Tuesday evening at a shootout in the Tuttle Street in Augusta.

The Sheriff's office in Richmond County says that the MPs answered the 700 Block of Tuttle Street for a person with a gunshot wound.

The MPs say while they have found a man with an apparent firing wound on site.

The MPs said they had treated the victim until Central Ems arrived on site. The victim was then brought to Wellstar.

According to MPs, the scene is safe. The department for criminal investigations also reacted to the scene.

According to the Sheriff's office, the examination continues.

The shooting comes in the middle of one Outbreak of violent crime.

The large and small communities were affected on both sides of the Savannah River.
