2 East Price Hill House fires examined

Cincinnati (Wxix) – civil servants examine the causes of two fires that took place in the same street in East Price Hill in just more than a week.

The Cincinnati fire brigade did not say that these fires are connected, but have opened studies on both.

On Monday afternoon, a fire broke out on the back of a house in the 800 block of the Summit Avenue.

On March 9, a house on the street caught fire and killed 2-year-old Jayceon McGee and 21-year-old Nyla Lashay Harrow, according to the forensic doctor's office. 10 others were injured in the flame.

Nobody was injured on Monday, but it caused the Summit Avenue house extensive. Jada Wheeler, who lives there, said Fox19 that she is now suspicious of what is happening in her neighborhood.

“I definitely didn't expect it to be so serious at all,” said Wheeler.

Soot, smoke and secure things now cover the back of Wheeler's house, which she shares with her 70-year-old father.

“My neighbor came over and knocked on our door to tell my father that there was a fire back there,” said Wheeler. She explained that her father was alone at home when the fire started.

The Cincinnati fire department came within minutes and prevented the fire from spreading further.

“It is really scary just because there was a fire on the street at the end of our street,” said Wheeler about the fatal fire, which took place in the 700 block of the Summit Avenue at the beginning of this month.

“I think there are many coincidences that are taking place,” said Wheeler.

Hours after Wheeler's house caught fire, she explained that she saw a car up the street in flames in a parking lot.

Officials have not yet confirmed this fire.

Wheeler explained that they could not find witnesses or camera shots from the fire at their house, but still ask their neighbors to be on the prospect.

“Personally, I am not sure, but to be honest, I somehow believe that it was arson just because there have been several fires in the past few weeks and a half, and it was also on the bright day,” said Wheeler. “So, I think it was an arson.

Firefighters have not said if they believe that both of them are suspicious.

They also have not connected the fires that are still being examined.

Wheeler says that their neighbors all know each other and keep an eye out. It asks people to comment when they see something suspicious or special.
