Around 8:25 p.m. on Friday, the first aiders in Gloucester, Massachusetts, received a call for a fire on the market basket in the Gloucester Crossing Road, the authorities said. Firefighters found two separate fires; One in the cardboard compactor and one in the storage room.

The fires were depressed until 9 p.m., the authorities said.

“The fact that you are in two very separate places in this building obviously makes us a little worried and obviously suspicious,” said Eric Smith, fire chief of Gloucester. “That's why the investigators are here.”

The business is open after the existence of inspections and was thoroughly disinfected and cleaned overnight, the authorities said. All affected packaging and food were rejected.
