2 people escape, 1 dog dies in the house fire near Roswell-WSB-TV Channel 2

Cobb County, Ga. – Firefighters deleted a house fire near Roswell late Monday.

Around 11 p.m., the crews responded to reports of a burning house on the Greenfinch Court Ne 1828 in Cobb County.

When firefighters arrived, they saw flames over the house and fire from the back of the house.

The crews searched the house for residents and found no.

They later learned that the two people in the house came out safely.

A dog died in the fire and another escaped.

Lt. Steve Bennett from Cobb County Fire Emergency Services believed that the fire started below.

One of the residents of the house told the firefighters that he had put a room heater behind a couch on the ground floor.

This has not yet been confirmed as the cause of the fire by fire agent.

The two people who had escaped the fire were taken to a nearby hospital with an ambulance.
