Mr. Rajesh Kannan informed the media that the Tamil Nadu police took various steps to protect women and children due to the instructions of Prime Minister MK Stalin, including the introduction of the app. Women could draw attention to the police in an emergency or protection that they need with the app.

Fourteen services from the police department are available in the app. The police asked the students to use the app if necessary and to raise awareness among their friends, family members, relatives and neighbors.

“We asked every student to encourage 50 members to download this app on their mobile devices, and the students have also assured us that they raise awareness of this app,” he said.

Rajesh Kannan answered a question about crimes against women in the district and said in the past two years to raise awareness of women of their rights. Women now approached the police, which was a great success. They used to be afraid to turn to the police, and even if women had a problem in their families, they turned to the police without fear. Regarding reports that almost 50 % of the CCTV cameras installed in Tiruchenengode were not used, the SP said that the connection to the cameras was cut off due to the police permission in the municipality after receiving the police license. After completing the work, the CCTV cameras would be commissioned. A proposal would be sent to the government to create a new subdivision for the Namkal District police and to set up two new police stations, the SP added.
