2025 Thai MotoGP, Buriram – Racing results

Marc Marquez ends a Dream Factory Ducati debut with the victory in the Thai MotoGP on Sunday, even though the brother Alex leads most of the race!

The older Marquez thus leaves the opening round after winning both the Buriram Sprint and the Grand Prix from the pole position for perfect 37 points.

After he dominated the sprint from start to finish, the 26-round race on Sunday seemed to be a repetition with Marc Marquez in a threshold 37-degree heat, which withdraw from the pole again …

But just six rounds later, Marquez suddenly drove at the output of the hairpin and looked over his shoulder when brother Alex rode past.

A warning with a low tire pressure was a theory, whereby the No. 93 had to follow another driver to increase its tire pressure for the required minimum number of rounds.

Marc was located directly in Alex 'Slipstream, but it was in a hurry to strengthen the tire pressure theory.

The Red Rider then followed the Gresini machine -with teammate Francesco Bagnaia, Franco Morbidelli and Rookie star Ai Ogura, for round after round.

The eight-time world champion finally started his Race winning pass with just four rounds before braking for the last corner and won by 1.7.

Alex Marquez had lost the second against Bagnaia again at the beginning, but later returned to the second place in the opening round before giving the lead. Bagnaia remained third for the rest of the Grand Prix.

Morbidelli quickly overcame his network penalty and passed Ogura for fourth place within a handful of rounds.

Nevertheless, Ogura held step again with his experienced competitors to take fifth place, since the only driver in the top sieves did not on the soft front and medium rear tires (which decided the soft back).

Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia) had a big gap to sixth place, followed by the Supreme Honda by Johann Zarco (LCR).

Joan Mirs, Joan Mirs HRC, fell in the middle of the seventh place, Pedro Acosta, another to meet the deck.

Fabio Quartararo and Maverick Vinales also fell on the back of the field.

Like Morbidelli (12th online), the home rookie Somkiat Chantra (22nd) also had a three-place network penalty in the race on Sunday to hinder other drivers at the end of the practice on Friday.

The reigning world champion Jorge Martin was absent this weekend after he had suffered further hand injuries in training last week. Martin was replaced by the Aprilia test driver Lorenzo Savadori.

Fabio di Giannonio – also injured on the first day of the first Sepang test – was back for VR46, but withdrew from his Ducati from the Saturday sprint due to extreme heat.

The second round of the season will take place in two weeks at Termas de Rio Hondo, Argentina.
