3 questions for Alabama Football at the beginning of spring practice

It is already this time of year. Alabama Football begins on Monday in Tuscaloosa for spring practice.

Kalen Deboer entered his second season as head coach of Crimson Tide, and after a 9: 4 season in 2024, the UA wants to return to its traditional form of championship. At the beginning of the trip there are three questions for Alabama, which you can answer during the spring ball.

Will we learn something about the quarterback fight?

In order to remember a line that Nick Saban tossed in 2023 at the Sec -Media days, the cake is back in the oven. With Jalen Milroe for the NFL design, the Crimson Tide needs a new quarterback again.

Ty Simpson is the suspected leader after spending the last two seasons as the main security of the UA. However, he will have a hard competition from the returnee Austin Mack and the five-star family of Keelon Russell.

It is unlikely that Deboer will find its starter during spring practice. However, it will be interesting to see how far the competition leads before the A-Day game.

Complicated affairs is the upcoming window for transfer portal. Alabama employees must correctly thread the needle in which every potential starter has the incentive to keep the rest of the low season.

Which newcomers can have an impact?

As usual, Alabama lost a lot of talent to the NFL design after the 2024 season. When the new season approaches, Deboer and Company will look for which new faces can help fill them.

An obvious candidate for a great influence is Isaiah Horton. The broad recipient who went from Miami could be prepared for a big season, as the defense also try to stop Ryan Williams and Germie Bernard.

In advance, Dewberry came an important role with Tyler Booker. The Texas A&M Transfer will try to earn a starting job, starting in spring practice.

And that cannot be mentioned that the entire newcomer from Russell to Dijon Lee and the rest of the class. Spring is a great time for coaches to take a first look at their latest youth.

Is something of it?

The game on April 12th will not be on TV. All over the country, coaches can cancel their spring games as a whole in other programs and quote potential for outstanding players to be poached from their programs, not to mention injury concerns.

With the Spring Transfer Portal window directly around the corner, the current form of spring football may be beyond usefulness. Sure, it could be useful for new students and other newcomers to work on learning the Crimson Tide systems.

But with the window, so much of the list stands the potential to change before the players resume the field. And that is not not to mention the injuries that the 2025 season could damage the Crimson Tide season before it even starts.

Maybe the spring system could be revised, but how useful is the exercise for Alabama?
