300 hectares of large fire near HWY 90 contained

A running fire near Lewis Ocean Bay Heritage Preserve is completely included.

The South Carolina Forestry Commission (SCFC) reported on the size of the fire at 300 acres from 8:38 p.m.

The site near the Old Highway 90 and the Edge Road is 100% contained according to the South Carolina Forestry Service.

Several crews remain on site and will be there all night.

About 20 structures were evacuated from caution on Saturday in the afternoon.

The International Drive will be closed for traffic on Saturday at around 7:20 p.m. and until further notice, as district officials say that the crews use the street from the schools to Highway 90 to react to Carolina Forest's forest fire.

The South Carolina Forestry Commission, the police from North Myrtle Beach and the Horry County police helped in the reaction.

People can see smoke for a long time.
