5 Best Javonte Williams Free Agency Landing Spots for Fantasy Football

Javonte Williams has been one of the most remarkable disappointments under Running Backs in Real and Fantasy football in recent years. After achieving 204.9 PPR points during his rookie campaign, he suffered a knee injury (2022) and has since recorded his average decline in his YARDS-Pro-Carry average. In 2024 he also fell into a Backfield Committee and divided the dead with the teammates Jaleel McLaughlin and to a lesser extent rookie Audric Estime.

The good news is that Williams has now removed from his knee injury for several years and that at the age of 24 he is still a young player (he will be 25 at the beginning of the next season). Williams will not justify a large number of his contract requirements, simply because he could not prove to be a reliable or productive runner on a professional level.

After this is said, there are five teams here who could help Williams improve their fantasy draft value, as we get involved with the most exciting part of the NFL first season: The Free Agent Rashy.

Los Angeles Chargers

The chargers could have one of the most attractive backfield openings, provided that the team let JK Dobbins go as a free agent. In this scenario they were able to pack Williams from their AFC West -Rivals, the Broncos. The system of the offensive coordinator Greg Roman was very friendly (look at the numbers of Dobbins last season), so that Williams could see a rebirth in the statistics. In fact, he could be seen as a borderline RB2/RB3 in Hollywood.

Dallas Cowboys

Similar to the chargers, Dallas' Backfield in 2025 is one of the most attractive landing sites for a free agent or rookie. Williams would be a reasonable addition to Cowboy's owner Jerry Jones, who is not known to spend a lot of money on free agents. Williams plays in an probably explosive offensive and provided that the team lets Rico Dowdle go as a free agent.

Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings have money to spend, and Aaron Jones becomes a free agent. In this scenario, Minnesota could spend more for other areas for the squad that need to be improved. The team would have to find another complementary back, since only Ty Chandler is currently under contract, but Williams would be interesting as a flex starter in Minnesotas fantasy-friendly offensive.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers could have a gap in their back field because Najee Harris is supposed to be a free agent. Enter Williams, who took over the main role and could see more than 200 touches in the coordinator Arthur Smith's crime. While he would lose Jayl Warren on the offensive on the offensive, I still want Williams as a practical Flex starter in fantasy leagues. Remember that this crime was fourth in the run percentage under Smith last season.

Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders have sincere McCormick and Zamir White as current top options in the Backfield, since Alexander Mattison and Ameer Abdullah are both freelance agents. The Silver & Black could follow a larger fish either in the NFL design or in the free agency, but Williams could be a backup plan. The Raiders steal a player from the rival Broncos and were able to use Williams as a back under the new coordinator Chip Kelly. It would be a solid landing site.
