5 daily players in the Journal region in 2025-Shaw Local

The Daily Journal Area has been in a certain football age in recent years. The outstanding players directed their programs to newly discovered heights before blazing at college level. And if the lights return in August, this will probably continue.

New head coaches will drive the side lines in Bishop McNamara, Kankakee and Central. Several seniors who have reached the individual success and size of the team will have graduated, but the talent cabinet will be anything but empty if the 2025 season rolls around.

Eight juniors and two in the second year were from the 28 daily journal All-Area selections last season. In addition, six special capabilities and ten honorable mentions will be back on local gridirons next autumn.

Here are five of these returning stars who approach the next season.

Lyzale Edmon, Bradley-Bourbonnais

Class: 2026

Position: WR/DB

Edmon is the only junior to make the first team of Illinois High School Football Coaches Association Class 7a for class 7a for Illinois Illinois High School. Offensive, Edmon served last season as a top pass option for the BBCHS Quarterback Gavin Kohl with 29 receptions for 489 yards (fifth in the 11-man region) and eight touchdowns (second in the 11-man area), but that is Only at the beginning of the beginning of Edmon's talent.

As a cornerback, Edmon had three interceptions and returned one for a touchdown, and as special teams, ACE added a handful of kick and punt return touchdowns to give him a total of 14 touchdowns via his junior campaign. His recruitment profile is taking on when Ohio University gave him its first NCAA divisions at the beginning of this month. But when he wants to make three direct trips to class 3a athletics finals this spring, the recruitment portfolio will quickly become very thick.
