5 Fantasy Football Bust (2025)

While the regular 2025 season is still away for months, it is never too early to prepare for the upcoming fantasy football season. There will be a lot between today and when fantasy designs begin this summer. However, let's take a look at five running backs who should avoid fantasy players this year.

Avoid Fantasy Football Running Backs

Christian McCaffrey (SF)

Unfortunately, McCafreys days as elite RB1 are over. The superstar is still a productive return, but has a considerable risk of injury. McCaffrey played seven or fewer games in three of the last five seasons. Last year he missed the first nine weeks with Achilles tendinitis and the last five with a knee injury. The veteran achieved an average of four rushing yards Pro experiment and 10.1 semi-point PPR fantasy points per game in his four competitions last season. I will not design McCafrey in 2025 more than a high-end-RB2-RB2.

Aaron Jones (min)

Minnesota signed a two -year contract before the start of the Free Agency and blocked him as a starter for the next season. Nevertheless, fantasy players will want to avoid designing him this summer. Last year the veteran ended as RB16 with an average of 12.7 semi-point PPR fantasy points per game. However, Jones had an average of 4.3 rushing yards per attempt in the past eight weeks, a total of 47 or fewer yards in half of these competitions. If you are even more important, you are not surprised if the Vikings give a meaningful competition in your backfield during the NFL design.

Isiah Pacheco (KC)

Last year Pacheco was a popular second choice in fantasy designs. Unfortunately, the former Rutgers star was a bust that ended the season as RB63 and had an average of 7.3 half point PPR fantasy points per game and was missing for 10 weeks with a broken fibula. It is even more important that in 2024 he only achieved 3.7 rushing yards per attempt. In comparison, Pacheco had an average of 4.7 rushing yards per game in the first two years. He also lost work on Kareem Hunt. In the meantime, the chiefs of Elijah Mitchell quickly added at the beginning of the free agency.

Rachaad White (TB)

White ended last year as RB24 with an average of 10.9 semi-point PPR fantasy points per game. However, I refuse to remove the former State star of Arizona in 2025 for Bucky Irving. He ended the RB14 with an average of 13 fantasy points per game as a rookie. White had some impressive performances last season and achieved 23.9 or more fantasy points twice. Unfortunately, his workload took back significantly at the end of the year. White scored a total of 20 touches and 13.9 fantasy points over the last three regular season games of the Buccaneers and a single playoff competition.

Nick Chubb (Fa)

While Chubb is a free agent at the time of writing this article, the veteran that runs back is not reigned again in this off -season with the Cleveland Browns. He was a superstar for most of his career. However, Chubb has missed 24 games in the past two years (70.6%) due to a cruel knee injury and a broken foot. It is even more important that the veteran on average only 3.3 yards per rushing attempt and 7.6 semi-point PPR fantasy points per game last season, both career deeps, achieved on average. Unfortunately, his days as a superstar are over.
