97. Academy Awards | Durham Neighborhood Bar and Coffee Shop Baryo organize Oscars Watch Party

Durham, NC (WTVD) – A few neighbors were in Baryo in Durham on Sunday to see the Oscars with other film lovers.

“We are all really only here in our best denim and sweat pants that judge these millions of dollars and only try out the work of these amazing actresses,” said Mia McGraw, Baryo.

The local bar and the Café shop have published an invitation for film lovers of all ages to see the 97th Oscar ceremony.

Fans hope that some of their favorites will go away with hardware.

“I really want 'Anora' win the best film, that was one that I saw. I also think that Nicole Boyd would really deserve it. That was the type of most innovative films in relation to filmmaking I also like 'The Substance', so I like that a female director gets the Oscar for the best picture,” said Sarah Apelle.

“I am an advocate of the arts, so love to see who will win and have a good time to see all the stars,” said Kimbra Chamomile.

Even if the fans were not sure who they could cheer on, it was a time to create a film list for spring.

“I use it as my homework, as if I see who wins and then I go back and look at them. But Wicked is a film that would not matter to me,” said Kamillille.
