A complaint against El Paso County for failure to provide the inmate Chemotherapy Medicine

Colorado Springs, Colorado (KKTV) – A former inmate in the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center sued the district after he was said that chemotherapy medicine was denied in prison in his four months.

The lawsuit was filed today and claimed that it has long -term consequences that can be avoided.

The plaintiff Stuart McLaney spent 123 days in the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center in 2023. He claims that his daily chemotherapy pill for his leukemia had been refused to him after requesting him several times.

MCLANEY claims that he had suffered pain in the progression of his cancer and had immediate health effects that could not be changed, even if he was released from prison and reinstated the medication.

11 messages turned to the Sheriff office of the El Paso County, who heads the prison, and the lawyer of El Paso County.

They replied: “El Paso County commented on not pending legal disputes.”

McLane's lawyer, Madeline Leibin, said that he had told the MP when he was instructed to the criminal judicial center that his medication was of crucial importance for his career.

“This took four months, a total of 123 days without his daily oral chemotherapy,” said Leibin, “and he is rightly destroyed and angry that he was left out in the cold for so long.”
