A dead person after Sunday evening in Rapid City

Rapid City, SD (Kota) – one person is dead and another in the hospital with life -threatening injuries after a shootout on Sunday evening in Rapid City.

The shootout took place shortly before 9 p.m. on the 800 block of the East New York Street

According to the Rapid City Police Department, civil servants were called to the house after a report that two people had been shot. Both victims were taken to the hospital where one of the victims died. The police did not allow the victims to leave the names until they notify their families.

The suspect, supposedly a woman, was arrested when she tried to hide nearby. The police believe that the victims and the suspect are known to each other.

The police ask that someone contacted them with information about the shootout at 605-394-4131. An anonymous tip can also be submitted by writing the letters 'RCPD' and the information on 847411.
