A few tips for St. Patrick's Day in Savannah

If you plan to take part in St. Patrick's Day Parade in Savannah on Monday, you will find a few tips for the event here.

The parade itself begins at 10:15 a.m. at the intersection of Gwinnett and Abercorn. The city of Savannah will close the streets along the Parade route the night before so that they find places to park. Shuttles are run from the parade area and there are grandstands – at a price. You can find them at COM/BLEACHERS/. But be in front of the fact that you could also be sold out.

If you want to take part in the “Land Rush” to get a place in one of the squares of the city, it starts on Monday at 6 a.m. These squares are Taylor, Oglethorpe, Lafayette, Johnson, Wright, Madison and Chippewa.

Articles forbidden in the squares are: glass containers, grills, styrofoam, reinforced sound, barrels, scaffolds, stages, advertising, bartepers, bartender, ladders and personal portable toilets. Those who have succeeded in finding a place in the “Land Rush” are asked to bring garbage bags to bring them down.

No tents may be set up in advance.

There is also Food Trucks in the celebration room.

The city's famous to-go cup zone limit is only extended for March 17th. It will go from the River Street to Talmadge Bridge at one end and then bordered by Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and to the Truman Parkway in the other point and extended to the Victory Drive. Local bars and restaurants are allowed to give their guests in this extended zone Tokassen. However, they cannot serve the public through windows or doors.

Those who go to the city center of Savannah for the celebrations are asked to leave their pets at home and use the specified facilities when they have to go to the toilet. Most arrests during the St. Patrick's Day events come from public urination.

All vehicles must be removed from the parade on Monday at 12:01 p.m. When your car is towed, you have to go to Habersham Street 201 on Habersham Street to the Savannah Police Department headquarters to maintain your release form and find out where your vehicle is.
