A look at the wind, fire damage in Texoma after Böiger Day

Texoma (KXII) – Violent winds tore on parts of the country on Friday, and Texoma was right on the way.

Streets and skies that were clear the day before had an orange color and reduced the view on Friday.

The additional dust, which hung in the air coupled with strong wind, knocked off power lines, pushed Semi trucks on their sides and spread out fire.

The problems started with a fire in Gunter early Friday morning and lasted all day when gusts controlled burns out of control.

That is why the Texoma area was set for the first time in years under a warning of the red flags.

This is done in special situations in which low humidity and dry conditions correspond to strong wind speeds.

Fire can spread much faster in an area of the red flag, and if a controlled combustion gets out of control, legal consequences can occur.

And even if there is no fire, the wind can lead to problems alone.

For example in Pottsboro on Friday afternoon, a Power Pole split in half and blew into a tree near houses in the city center.

Another pole in the same street was completely torn out of the ground and thrown onto the street, so that the power lines were spread across the road.

In this case, first aiders and electrical crews were able to block the area quickly and switch off the performance to prevent accidents.

In Ardmore and in the nearby parts of the south of Oklahoma, the winds uprooted trees, flattened dandruff and damaged roofs and gutters.

In 44 districts of Oklahoma, more than 130 fires were reported to the state emergency surgery center, including Choctaw, Johnston, Love, Marshall, Pontotoc and Stephens.

On Saturday morning, the winds should die again at normal level, but the dust can hang around until Saturday evening until a small cold front leaves through and consecrated it.

Until then, they remain safe and remain aware of the weather.
