Aarp Florida calls on the legislator to support HB 223-electronic monitoring devices in long-term care facilities

Nobody has to install an electronic monitoring device, but those who want should have the right to do so.

If a loved one enters a nursing home or a facility for assisted living, families want them to be sure that they are safe and well maintained. For this reason, Aarp Florida supports the legislation that enables residents to introduce electronic monitoring devices in their rooms at their own expense. This legal measure offers residents and their families the peace of calm without burdening the facilities financially or operational.

It is important that this legislation gives residents a choice. Nobody has to install an electronic monitoring device, but those who want should have the right to do so. For many, a simple electronic monitoring device can offer, ensure and serve as a impartial instrument to fix the concerns fairly and benefit both residents and employees.

Without costs for facilities and a clear advantage for those you use, it is a practical step to enable electronic surveillance devices in local rooms in order to obtain greater transparency and trust in long -term care. Aarp Florida calls on legislators to support this legislation and to give families the peace of mind they deserve.
