About Irish Studies Program to organize events for St. Patrick's Day

The Irish Studies program at the University of Montana, the Friends of Irish Studies and the old Order of the Hibernians will organize events for St. Patrick's Day on Saturday.

The first event is a fair at 8 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Church and the parade in downtown Missoula starts at noon.

The large marshal of the parade will be Bob “Trainor” Luceno, a resident of Missoula, who brought in the sectarian gap in Northern Ireland in Northern Ireland in the early 1990s.

Missoula will celebrate everything that Irish will celebrate with a flood of activities on the day of St. Patrick on Saturday, March 15th. Events are organized by the Irish Studies Program at the University of Montana, the Friends of Irish Studies and the Old Order of the Hibernians.

The day begins with an 8 o'clock fair in the St. Francis Xavier Church in Missoula. The fair honors Jami Brianne Kimball, graduate of around Irish Studies, who died last December.

This year's Parade Grossmarschall is Bob “Trainor” Luceno, a long -time resident of Missoula and a man who played a special role in the bridging of the sectarian gap in Northern Ireland in the early nineties.

The Irish man of the year is Pádraig Dennehy, a born button who has generously gave time and treasure to promote Irish culture throughout Westmontana.

The Irish woman of the year is Eilis O'herlihy, a native of the Irish -speaking district of County Cork, Ireland. O'herlihy has actively organized cultural events that enable students to experience Gaelic culture in Montana.
