Academy, Texas ISD announces Ty Kuhn as New Head Football coach

According to the district, Kuhn has 15 years of trainer experience at the middle and high school level.

Little River-Academy, Texas-and football from the Bumblebee Academy has a new head coach.

The Akademie ISD announced on Thursday, March 6, that Ty Kuhn was appointed the new head coach for the Bumbleer.

According to the district, Kuhn has 15 years of experience in the middle and high school level and a “strong background in terms of leadership, strength and conditioning and program development”.

Kuhn started his coaching career in 2009 at the Frank Seale Middle School in Midlothian ISD, said Academy ISD. He also trained at the Hood Junior High School, Temple High School and Colleyville High School as well as in Palestine, Krum and Lampasas ISDs.

Kuhn was deputy head coach and recruitment coordinator at Lampasas ISD and helped the team in 2023 and 2024 to BI distribution championships and in 2024 to a area championship, said Academy ISD.

“We are pleased to welcome coach Ty Kuhn at the ISD Academy,” said Steve Hoffman, sports director of the Akademie ISD. “His energy, commitment and its proven ability to develop successful programs make him the ideal leader for our soccer team. We look forward to the positive effects that he will have on our student athletes on and off the field.”

“It is an honor for me to join the Akademie ISD as head coach,” said Kuhn. “I have long admired the tradition of excellence, for which the district is known, and I am excited to work together with our athletes and employees on this legacy. My family and I look forward to becoming part of the fuss community.”

Kuhn will officially begin in the role on Monday, March 17th, said the district.
