(Tallahassee, Fla.) – The Attorney General of Florida, James Uthmeier, said on Tuesday that he had instructed the public prosecutor to carry out search commands and to spend on the “Nowactive criminal investigation” in the influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan after they have arrived from the state.

The announcement was published for the first time on X: “Last week I instructed my office to work with our law enforcement partners in order to carry out a preliminary examination according to Andrew and Tristan.”

It continued: “Due to a thorough review of the evidence, I instructed the office of nationwide law enforcement to carry out search command commands and to exhibit underloads in the now active criminal examination of the Tate brothers.”

The brothers landed at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on February 27, after Romania had increased a travel limitation to her, even though it was used to use persistent criminal investigations for human trafficking and an organized criminal group with the aim of sexually taking advantage of women in two cases. Andrew Tate was also charged for rape.

The Tate of Brothers deny all charges against them.

The two had been limited to Romania since the end of 2022 and were charged both in 2023 and 2024. Romanian officials announced that court restrictions that prohibit the brothers to leave Romania while waiting for the process were increased, but the indictment against them remained in force. The crime is also suspended in the United Kingdom with another criminal proceedings in which an arrest warrant against separate allegations for human trafficking and rape was issued. The British government has confronted calls to request the delivery of the crime from the United States

The publication of the crime was followed by reports on lobbying by the government of President Donald Trump. Trump denied any knowledge of it when reporters asked her arrival in the United States. However, Romania's Foreign Minister has confirmed that Trump's special representative Richard Grenell raised the case of the brothers during a meeting in February, even though he contested. Key Trump officials and allies, including Elon Musk and Trump's son Donald Trump Jr., previously convicted the case.

The indictment against the crime remains in force and is expected to return to Romania because of court appearances, according to an explanation of the Romanian management to investigate organized crime and terrorism (DIICOT).

Despite the support of other Trump allies for the crime, the governor of Florida, Ron Desantis, expressed surprising and trouble about her arrival in Florida and announced reporters on the day that the crime in view of the behavior that they are accused was “not welcome”.

Uthmeier, the Attorney General, said that he had instructed the state's prosecution authorities to investigate whether one of their alleged crimes in connection with human trafficking and violence against women had triggered Florida's jurisdiction and undertook to “take them”, if so.

One of the alleged victims in the center of one of the Romanian cases against Tate is a woman in Florida. The American citizen has accused the crime of having lured her to Romania under the pretext of the romantic relationship and then putting her under pressure to work as a pornographic webcam model.

The crime denied the crowds of the woman.

It is unclear whether the new investigation by Florida includes women's allegations. Uthmeier rejected it to give details on Tuesday, but promised to use “every tool” to hold the crime into account.

“These boys have admitted publicly to participate in what apparently asked to ask human trafficking, to excite women around the world,” he told a local reporter. “People can turn it as they want, but in Florida this type of behavior is considered cruel. We won't accept it. “

“If these guys have carried out criminal activities here in Florida, we will pursue them with full legal force and take them to account,” he said.

A lawyer who, Joseph D. McBride, represented, condemned the investigation and accused Uthmeier, to make “inflammatory, presumed” comments and claimed that the case was politically motivated.

“Today Attorney General James Uthmeier threw the Ethics Act out of the window when he publicly received a page in a current lawsuit in Florida in which Andrew and Tristan act sued a woman in Florida,” McBride wrote down and asked the Attorney General to provide evidence.

McBride accused the new investigation of Desantis and called him “an angry, vertically challenged IMP, which hated Tate and Trump to be actual men. Attorney General Uthmeier is his pitiful lap dog. “

In 2023, the crime made a lawsuit against the Florida woman in the state and accused her and her family to have conspired their reputation by participating in the Romanian case. Last month, the woman brought her own contrast to the crime and accused her of using the defamation for the defamation to try to silence the victims. Both cases are currently pending.

A lawyer of the Florida woman in the Romanian case praised the change of the Attorney General to examine the crime criminal.

“Florida AG Uthmeier has the right to investigate the brothers who were publicly praising women to take advantage of women and continuously undermine the Romanian examinations of these crimes,” said Dani Pinter, Senior Vice President of the National Center for Sexual Exploitation. “Over 40 victims were identified all over Romania, the United Kingdom and the United States. You earn justice. Florida's investigation is a positive step towards justice. “

One of the women who are a suspected victim in the center of one of the Romanian cases is an American woman who lives in Florida.

From the explanation of Uthmeier, it is unclear how the examination is currently being examined or how it could proceed.
