After 505 days in Hamas Hell, Tal Shoham is free

On October 7th, Tal Shoham from Kibbutz Be'eri was taken hostage. The Hamas terrorists tied his hands with a zipper, threw it into the trunk of a car and drove to Gaza.

In the past 505 days I have thought of valley several times a day. A photo of Tal Shoham sits on my desk. My social media profile is a photo of valley.

The photo of valley sits on my desk

When I enjoy a hot meal or a relaxing shower, I think of the valley in Hamas Hell – hour after hour, day after day … Eat mold bread.

When I enjoy clean clothes and a comfortable bed, I think of valley – alone in the cold, dark dungeons … hardly able to breathe.

In these moments I would promise to be a better person, hoping that it could somehow benefit Tal Ben Nitza in the big scheme.

Why Tal Shoham?

On October 7th, when the entire Jewish nation stormed into the scorching trauma, I wanted to desperate to establish a personal connection with the hostages. I discovered that my sister -in -law's second cousin is married to my sister -in -law with Tal Shoham's second cousin.

Nevertheless, valley is not a “distant relative”. October 7th has proven that the entire Jewish people are a family – 14 million corpses with a soul connected.

Our prayers were answered in this Shabbat when valley reunited valley with his wife and two small children after 505 agonizing (and a hostile hostage transmission ceremony).

Hostage deal

This last deal with the spoiled Hamas is a joy with grief – a bitter -sweet storm of emotions.

Almost 2,000 terrorists, including notorious mass murderers, are now free on the streets. This exorbitant high price is considered victory by our enemies.

Tal Shoham reunited himself with his wife, his children and his parents.

We mourn the Jewish blood and the treasure that was sacrificed to grasp these murderers at all.

We are desperate that the forces of evil live to see another day – the vast majority that will resume terror.

We complain how things could have been different, the UN – rather hate against Israel – had denounced the monsters of Hamas.

We complain like the Hamas -Barbarians who know our deep commitment to life, kidnap and use blackmail against us.

We fear that the next Sinwar is one of the liberated prisoners and shuddering at how this deal stimulates additional hostage -taking.

Nevertheless, in return we won a lot more. We saved the valley and other members of our family in need.

For thousands of years, the Jewish people have had its nephew -free (Genesis Ch. 14) for thousands of years: no break until every hostage is brought home.

“They save a life, they save a whole world,” says the Talmud.

As anti -Semites remind us in the course of history, the Jewish unity is our strength and strength. It is precisely this relationship and this commitment that enable us to get out of this nightmare more than ever.

And if the story is a guide, the long arm of the IDF will enjoy proper retribution.

When I look at Tal's photo and a sincere and sensitive soul, full of love and joy, remember that there is light and hope, assures that truth, justice and justice will win the day.
