Alabama's fire deaths seem to tend down

Montgomery, Ala. (WSFA) – fire fire in Alabama are tended down, so State fireman Scott Pilgreen, who says this is good news, but there is still work to do because a lost life is too many.

House fires can start quickly and spread quickly and make them dangerous and fatal.

“We are all susceptible to this,” said Pilgreen, who realizes that Alabama historically is one of the top countries of the nation when it comes to fire.

The number of firefighters begins to trend downwards, says Pilgreen.

Here has been a breakdown of fire brigade cases in Alabama since 2022:

2022 – 108

2023 – 97

2024 – 83

2025 – 22

“I hope this is a sign that people take a moment, take air and think about what they do, whether it is outdoors, whether it is about the use of devices in their houses, you know that during the cold times of the year or when smoking in oxygen or in a fire and thus a fire and a fire and a fire and a fire and a fire and fire, a fire and a fire and a fire and a fire and a fire, a fire and a fire, and a fire and a fire, a fire and a fire, and a fire and a fire and a fire and a fire and a fire, and a fire and a fire and a fire, and a fire and a fire and a fire and a fire and a fire and a fire and a fire and a fire, and a fire and a fire and a fire and a fire, Fire, and a fire, a fire, and a fire and a fire, a fire, and a fire and a fire, ”said a fire and a fire, and with it a fire and a death and a fire, a fire, said a fire and fire, and with it a fire and a fire and a death,” said a fire and fire, and with it a death and a fire and a fire and a fire and a fire and a fire and a fire and a fire, and a fire and a fire, and a fire and a fire, and a fire and a fire, and a fire and a fire, and a fire and a fire, and a fire and a fire, and a fire and a fire and a fire, have a fire and a death, ”he said.

Pilgreen says that there are steps that we can take to increase our chances of surviving a fire. First, you must have an escape plan. Second? As soon as they are out of the burning building, stay outside.

“We already had a couple this year in which people originally got out. And they go back to get something that is really important in the great scheme of things, since the only thing that is really important is the life of this person, ”said Pilgreen.

Pilgreen has a warning. If you get out and decide to get in again, “you won't get it out again.”

When a fire starts, you may only have two minutes to get out. Therefore, early warning is so important. Make sure you have a functioning smoke detector. Most local fire brigade will install them for you.
