Alcorn State defeats the state Mississippi Valley 72-64

Itta Bena, Miss. (AP) -The 21 points from Djahi Binet helped Alcorn State on Thursday with 72-64 Mississippi Valley State 72-64.

Binet had 10 rebounds for Braves (10-20, 10-7 Southwestern Athletic Conference). Julian Lual scored 12 points, while he went 5 out of 10 off the ground, including 1 for 4 from 3-point range and 1 for 3 from the line and added 10 rebounds and three steals. Marcus Tankersley ended 5 out of 14 from the ground to end with 12 points.

Antonio Sisk led the Delta Devils (3-27, 1-16) in the rating and ended with 17 points. The state of Mississippi Valley also received 13 points from Alvin Stredic Jr. Jair Horton with 10 points. The loss is the eighth for the Delta Devils.

Both teams will play next Saturday. Alcorn State visits the UAPB and Mississippi Valley -Statakes via Jackson State at home.
