Alea starts the fifth annual campaign “Think Smart before you with the Spring Break”

Montgomery, Al – The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (Alea) officially introduced its fifth annual “Think Smart before the start of the Spring Break”, a nationwide initiative that aims to ensure security and promote responsible decisions during the busy spring season. The campaign is particularly aimed at young people and students and encourages them to prioritize security while traveling and enjoy their free time.

As part of this proactive effort, Aleea will increase the patrols on Alabama's streets to promote safe journey. With thousands that go to the beaches of the state and vacation hotspot, Alea soldiers will concentrate on enforcing traffic laws, monitoring the use of the seat belt and having dangerous driving behavior such as speed overruns, distracted driving and driving under influence.

“Spring vacation is a time for fun and relaxation, but it is crucial that we remember that security is always a top priority,” said Alea Secretary Hal Taylor. “We remind the drivers, especially the young drivers, to think clever before taking the street. Regardless of whether you travel to your destination or spend time on the beach, we want to make sure everyone has a safe and pleasant spring holidays. “

In addition to enforcing the roadway, Alea continues his efforts to improve beach security. For the fourth time in a row, Alea's aviation unit will carry out the “Rescue Swimmer Detail”, a program that rapidly uses lifeguards from the cities of Orange Beach and Golf Shores rapidly.

This year, thanks to the additional financing that Senator Chris Elliott secured in 2024 in 2024, the initiative will not only be forecast during the periods of the top fruits, but also when strong rip streams are forecast during the spring and summer months. These expanded efforts ensure potential emergencies on the Alabama coast of fast response times.

Application

“Rescue swimmers together with our aviation unit are ready to act quickly in an emergency,” said Lt. Jeremy Burkett, director of the Alea administration office. “With the beautiful, but sometimes unpredictable water on the golf coast, we all encourage you to swim safely and observe all warnings. However, if you are in difficulties, we will be there as soon as possible. “

Alea asks all citizens to take responsibility for their safety on both the street and on the beach. The agency has made essential security tips available to ensure a safe and pleasant experience for the spring holidays:

  • Swallow yourself out of security: General belts save life, no matter how short the trip.
  • The risk is not worth the speed: Drive the specified speed limit and remain aware of road conditions.
  • Avoid distracted driving: Place the phone and concentrate on the street.
  • Never drive under the influence: Use a designated driver or carpet service if you consume alcohol or other impairing substances.
  • If you plan ahead, remain sure: Always inform someone about your travel plans and whereabouts.
  • Do you know your limits on the beach: Stay hydrated, swim with a buddy and follow the instructions for lifeguards.

With strategic planning and responsible decision -making, Alea hopes to ensure safe and successful spring holidays for all residents and visitors in Alabama.

An Alea representative explained that Alea is still devoted to public security through proactive traffic enforcement, crime prevention and emergency reaction. The agency's specialists work tirelessly to protect citizens across Alabama and ensure that residents and visitors can enjoy a safe and unforgettable spring break season.
