Alpena Boys Swim Team third in the conference with 10-2 Record | News, sports, jobs


After a recent competition, a photo poses with the kind permission of the swimming team of the Alpena High School Boys. The wildcats took third place in the conference with a 10-2 record.


The Varsity Swim Team of the Alpena High School Boys, listed by Jennifer Johnson and Liz Jacques, traveled to SaginAraw Valley State University on Friday and Saturday for the annual ISC Swimming and Diving Championship.

In the second season, the team took third place in the conference with a 10-2 record.

On the first day of the competition, each individual swimmer had their personal best. On the second day, Alpena had 20 qualification entries and ended with a total of 294 points, the floating Caro, Ogemaw Heights, Oscoda, Alma and Standish-Sterling Central.

“I am incredibly proud of the commitment and the commitment that every swimmer showed throughout the season,” said coach Johnson. “This year was full of progress and growth. I look forward to building the program in the coming years. “

The following swimmers placed the following swimmers at the 12 events.

200 -yard -Medley relay: Joshua Short, Drew McConnell, Alex Winfield and land in second place and Kaleb Werth, Nicholas Dargis, Logan Mill and Emmet Derosia in eighth place.

200 Yard Freestyle: Joshua Short in Second, Brenden Werth in 14th and Milo Dahleen in 16th place.

200 Yard in: Drew McConnell in fourth place, Kaleb Werth in eighth place and Logan Mill in 12th place.

50 Yard Freestyle: Alex Winfield in fourth place, Gagnon landed in the 11th and Emmet Derosiain in 13th place.

100 -yard -butterfly: Alex Winfield in the third and Logan Mill in 10th place.

100 Yard Freestyle: Land Gagnon in the 10th and Nicholas Dargis on 11th place.

500 Yard Freestyle: Joshua Short 1st, Brenden Werth 14th and Joel Kaiser 16th place.

200 -yard -Freestyle relay: Land Gagnon, Joshua Short, Drew McConnell and Alex Winfield in third place and Quentin Hubert, Brenden Werth, Milo Dahleen and Linkon Meinzinger in 13th place.

100 -yard backstroke: Kaleb Werth in the 11th and Emmet Derosia in the 15th place.

100 -yard breast swimming: Drew McConnell in the fourth and Nicholas Dargis in the 15th place.

400 -yard -Freestyle relay: Logan Mill, Emmet Derosia, Nicholas Dargis and Kaleb Werth in eight, and Joel Kaiser, Brenden Werth, Milo Dahleen and Linkon Meinzinger in 10th place.
