AMES, Rohde, Virginia transports in Florida State for a 60-57 victory in Florida State

Charlottesville, va. – Dai Dai Ames scored 18 points and Andrew Rohde scored 17 points with 17 points and Virginia started in the end to beat Florida 60: 57 on Tuesday evening.

Elijah Saunders added 11 points for the Cavaliers (15-15, 8-11), who can secure a goodbye in the first round for the ACC tournament on Saturday in a regular season with a victory against Syracuse.

Jamir Watkins scored 18 points for Florida State (16-13, 7-11 ACC).

Ames made two foul shots with a five -second lead to get the last lead to seal the victory. Watkins threw a dunk with 11 second ahead to get the seminols within 58-57 after Justin Thomas Rohde moved out on a trip. Thomas threw the ball to Watkins for his dark for a long time. Rohde with 55 with the gunshot was a 3 pointer from the right baseline to a Fadaway 3 pointer that almost fell into the stands to give Virginia the lead forever.

Daquan Davis made a 3 with 4:23 to put Florida State 52-50 in the lead. Watkins made 1 of 2 foul shots for a 3-point lead before Saunders buried a 3 for Virginia in 53. Alier Maluk gave Florida the state with 2:35 left. Virginias Isaac McKney bound it 29 seconds later.

Virginia now leads the all-time series against Florida State 30-28. The Cavaliers exceeded the Seminols with a total of only six points in the 58-game series.

The seminols close the regular season in the SMU on Saturday.
