And Women Lead Conference Meet, Hawks stack eight medals on the first day

Brookings, SD – At the end of the opening day of the Summit League Indoor Championships on Friday, the women in North Dakota currently led the team race with 66 points through the first five events achieved, while the Nodak men with 24 points took fourth place.

Tiffanie Magnusson (Pentathlon), Kenna Curry (Weight throw) and Jadyn Keeler (3,000 meters) All caught gold for the Fighting Hawks on the first day. And broke a few school records, achieved eight improvements in the UND-TOP 10 list and had eight medalists at the meeting.

North Dakotas Pentathletes helped North Dakota to start strongly at the Summit League Indoor Championships and complete a 1-2-3-Sweep on the podium. It was the fourth season in a row in which the Summit League Pentathlon Champion was a fighting falcon.

After Magnusson finished second in the last two seasons in the last two seasons, he won gold and won the pentathlon on Friday with 3,794 points.
