A whale caught in fishing nets was freed from the Baltic coast of Poland

WAMSAM, POLAND (AP) – Teams of Sea Rescuers and Wildlife experts have successfully freed a whale that was caught near a popular Baltic Sea resort in Poland in Fischerzeite. The stranded animal was discovered on Wednesday morning in the waters in front of Miedzyzdroje. It took about an hour for the rescuers to cut and remove the nets and let the whale swim into the open sea. One of the rescuers said the whale was first stressed, then she seemed to understand that they tried to help. The rescuers hope that the whale will find its way back to the Atlantic because the Baltic Sea is not a suitable environment for whales.
